Overview
Full-body seamless patient simulator with articulated joints that is uniquely designed for enhanced paracentesis training at clinical skills centers, where both early postgraduate medical and anaesthesia specialisms are taught.
Anatomy
It is famous for reproducing human anatomy with highly realistic synthetic materials which to accurately mimic the look, feel and behavior of skeleton, muscles, subcutaneous tissues and skin.
Realism
In clinical training, medical students will get a true to life experience to learn patient positioning and professional-to-patient communication besides technical skills, including
1. Lumbar Puncture
- Performing procedures in a decubitus position with the neck and knees flexed, approximating the necessary adult position.
-Ligamentum flavum allow for more realistic haptic feedback and practice of loss of resistance techniques during needle insertion through epidural space between the insert and the dura enable practice threading an epidural catheter.
-Realistic flow of fluid from the water reservoir enable administering cerebrospinal fluid.
-Injection techniques include spinal anaesthesia, lumbar puncture, epidural analgesia, caudal analgesia, sacral nerve block and cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) pressure measurement.
2. Bone Marrow Biopsy
Allow for the palpation of underlying bony landmarks such as the spinous process, and manubrium sterni, the anterior and posterior iliac crests to facilitate proper biopsy needle placement.
3. Thoracentesis
Performing procedures in a left/right lateral, sitting or decubitus position, widens the spaces mid-scapular line access and mid-axially line access, includes the ribs, soft tissue, pleura, lung and diaphragm. The ribs can be palpated from the surface to determine site for needle insertion. Volume of pleural effusion can be collected.
4.Abdominal paracentesis
Performing procedures in a Fowler's or left lateral position. Ability to train abdominal percussion and abdominocentesis fluid aspiration.
5. Injectable venous circulatory system for vascular training.
6.Simulator gives a distinctive “pop” feeling when puncturing the tissues during puncture procedure.
7.Durable tissue inserts are replaceable, increasing lifespan of the simulator and keeping on going costs down.
Customizable
For various other paracentesis and fracture reductions such as Colles’, quote as per request.
Cleaning
1. Drain all fluid from the product when not in use.
2. Clean the simulator with a damp cloth, using warm water and neutral detergent. Do not use any abrasive cleaning agents or materials.
3. Allow trainer to completely dry before storing.
4. Keep away from sunshine.
