Overview
This Venipuncture Arm gives unlimited access to the major veins in the hand and arm. The dorsal surface of the hand includes an extensive vascular system allows students to practice venipuncture and infusion through all primary and secondary locations. It is used to accurately simulate venipuncture, IV cannulation, and IV infusion.
Anatomy
• Sites for peripheral venous cannulation:
-Dorsal metacarpal vein in the hand
-Antecubital Fossa (ACF) vein in the arm
-Basilic vein
-Cephalic vein
-Dorsal metacarpal veins
-Antecubital Fossa (ACF) Vein Module anatomy
-Basilic vein
-Cephalic vein
-Median cubital vein
Realism
• It represents the key haptics of veins in a male right arm. Using palpation, trainees can determine the location of the veins to draw a blood sample or administer an intravenous injection.
• The blood system offers a real-life training experience. Trainees will experience realistic blood flashback upon insertion of needle. (correct position of the tourniquet and fasten properly enough)
• Advanced Pump System reduces internal leakage for a more user-friendly experience
• Veins are palpable with realistic haptics for accurate clinical use
• Infusion tube allows for intravenous fluids to be administered
• The hand skin can be tighten and the fingers can be blended as a real human during the puncture procedure. Continuous intravenous infusion can be simulated with adjustable 1-60 drops/min after taken off the tourniquet.
Cleaning
1. Clean the simulator with a damp cloth, using warm water and neutral detergent. Do not use any abrasive cleaning agents or materials.
2. Allow trainer to completely dry before storing.
3. Keep away from sunshine.
SAFETY
Veins contain latex, however, these are covered by the silicone arm skin during procedures.
Operation guidance
Use drainage bag to connect to the output port as shown below.
Turn on the power to make blood pump works, the simulated blood will fill the veins.
While changing the Dorsal metacarpal veins, make sure not to bend the veins circled in red below to avoid from Poor blood flow
